Was your collection day missed?
If your collection day was missed due to weather or an equipment breakdown, we plan to serve your home within the week. Complete our online form with questions or to report a concern, or call Holly Springs Public Works at (919) 552-5920.
Surprised to see us ahead of schedule?
When possible, Holly Springs crews may service streets ahead of schedule, which improves efficiency and helps us stay on track for yard waste collection for the entire town. Unless prevented by inclement weather or equipment repairs, yard waste collection crews always return to every street on the scheduled collection day to gather new and remaining yard waste. So, if you see us ahead of schedule, remember we’re coming back on your scheduled day.
Help collection run smoothly.
- Keep different types of yard waste separate. The vacuum truck that collects leaves and lighter yard waste can be damaged by sticks and larger debris.
- Make sure parked vehicles and trash/recycling bins are not blocking the vacuum truck from collecting yard waste. Please leave plenty of space around yard waste for crews and equipment to work.
- Place piles of leaves off the street and away from storm drains for safety, to prevent clogged drains and flooded roads, and to help protect our environment.
- Respect your neighbors. Keep yard waste off the street and away from storm drains.
Wait to place leaves out for collection until a few days before your home is scheduled for collection.
Hiring a pro to work on your yard?
The town will not collect yard waste created by landscapers and tree service contractors. Ordinance Chapter 14, Article II, Sec. 14-34 (c)(4)
Christmas Tree Collection
When you are ready to dispose of your tree, remember to strip it of all decorations and other objects, including tinsel and nails, before leaving it at the curb for collection. The trees are chipped for mulch to be used in town park areas. Trees with objects on them must be left behind since they could damage the chipping machine. There is no scheduled end date; the Christmas trees are part of yard waste collection.
