Affordable Housing, Office Space and Retail Coming To Ting North

Ting North Revised Concept

The Town Council has approved modifications to a plan to develop 20 acres just north of Ting Park.  The land that sits north of Sportsmanship Way, between NC 55 and North Main Street, will feature a 70,000 square foot building of class A office space, retail shops, and a possible hotel on site.  The mixed use development will also provide 124 units of workforce housing in an agreement with Wake County.

The property was identified by Wake County as part of its mission to evaluate publicly-owned land to provide more affordable housing for county residents.  The parcel was part of the land that was originally designated as belonging to the South Wake Landfill.  Once the property was removed from the landfill plans, Wake County sold the south half to the Town to develop Ting Park and the north half has remained under the ownership of the county.

The original development plan for Ting North included headquarters for the My Computer Career company, but they are no longer involved in the project.

“We anticipate that the affordable housing units will go under construction first,” said Holly Springs Planning Manager Sean Ryan.  “There will be an entrance built both on Main Street and Sportsmanship Way, along with road widening along Main Street to accommodate traffic.”
