Holly Springs Responds to Winter Weather

News Posted on January 21, 2026 | Last Updated on January 31, 2026

The Town of Holly Springs is responding to another round of winter weather.

"The Town of Holly Springs has been diligently working across our Town and with our community partners to prepare for the winter weather," said Jennifer Mathis, Holly Springs Emergency Management Specialist. "As we continue to coordinate our operations across the community, we encourage residents to stay informed and prepared by checking our website for updates and following us on social media."

Waste Collection

  • Friday's garbage and recycling collection was completed on Saturday. GFL, the Town's contractor, was on a one-day delay due to winter weather earlier in the week.
  • Christmas tree pickup is extended through Feb. 5 due to inclement weather.
  • The Yard Waste Convenience Center is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
  • To help crews clear roads effectively, please remove all garbage and recycling bins from the curb once waste has been collected.

Snow Removal

During snow removal, please remember that Town Public Works crews follow a strategic clearing priority:

  • Primary Roads: Major hills, bridges, and high-traffic thoroughfares are treated first to ensure emergency vehicles can navigate the Town.
  • Neighborhood Streets: Once primary routes are stabilized and passable, crews will begin clearing residential areas.

Residents are encouraged to park in driveways or garages if possible to keep streets clear and allow for more efficient snow removal and emergency response access. Learn more about how the Town addresses snow removal.

Safety First on the Road

As a reminder, secondary roadways may freeze overnight. Please exercise caution if you must to drive.

The Town will share updates on known road hazards via this online map.

Important Numbers

  • Call 911 for emergency assistance.
  • For questions and non-emergency assistance, the Town’s Office of Customer Care can be reached at 311 or (919) 577-3111 during office hours, or use the Holly Springs Connect app or website to report a non-emergency service request.
