Service Animals

Under the ADA, service animals are dogs or miniature horses trained to perform tasks directly related to a person’s disability. They are welcome in Town of Holly Springs facilities if their presence does not fundamentally alter the nature of a program or service. They must also be housebroken and under control by leash, harness, or other effective means such as voice or signal. Emotional support, comfort, and therapy animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and must follow Town facility access guidelines.

Accommodations & Requests

The Town has an ADA coordinator who can answer ADA-related questions, handle reasonable accommodation requests, and provide information on established procedures for filing a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of a disability. The ADA coordinator can be contacted at the phone number and address listed below. Any questions or comments concerning this policy should be referred to the ADA coordinator Theresa Randall at theresa.randall@hollyspringsnc.gov or (919) 567-4009.
