The Holly Springs Town Council is seeking applicants for openings on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee and Tree Advisory Committee. Applications will be accepted through Monday, April 6 with appointments anticipated to be made by the Council in June.
About the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee
Openings:
- 3 members (three-year terms ending June 30, 2029)
This nine-member committee advises the Town Council and the Parks & Recreation Department. It serves as a liaison between the Town and the citizens of Holly Springs and the surrounding area.
About the Tree Advisory Committee
Openings:
- 2 members (terms are for 19 months, ending February 28, 2028)
- 2 members (terms are for 31 months, ending February 28, 2029)
- 1 Junior member (7-month term, ending February 28, 2027)
The Holly Springs Tree Advisory Committee provides assistance with planning an annual Arbor Day event and public information initiatives, helping residents understand the importance and need for tree preservation and maintenance. Members also provide guidance about how Holly Springs can maintain good standing with Tree City USA standards and recommendations on tree maintenance guidelines and preferred tree selection criteria, the Town’s Street Tree Replacement Program, and more.
