The Town of Holly Springs is offering residents another option for recycling electronics batteries. Deposit batteries in a bin inside:
Holly Springs Public Works, 101 Thomas Mill Rd.
Open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays
Holly Springs Town Hall, 128 S. Main St.
Open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays
W.E. Hunt Recreation Center, 301 Stinson Ave.
Open Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m.-10 p.m. | Friday, 5 a.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. | Sunday, 1-6 p.m.
Before depositing batteries in the bin, please cover all battery posts with electric tape to reduce the risk of causing a fire.
Town Public Works staff will take collected batteries to the nearby Wake County facility to be recycled. Residents also are welcome to dispose of batteries at the South Wake Household Hazardous Waste drop-off facility at 6130 Old Smithfield Road, Apex, open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
All household batteries are accepted. Vehicle batteries are not accepted at Town facilities but can be taken directly to the South Wake facility for disposal.
