Group Health & Insurance
The Town offers group health insurance for regular full-time employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. Employees may purchase dependent coverage, but the employee assumes the cost for dependent coverage.
Dental Coverage
The Town offers dental coverage through Delta Dental at no cost to the employee for regular, full-time employees. The Town offers dependent coverage for an additional cost to the employee.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Town of Holly Springs provides employees and family members with free, confidential, short-term counseling to help resolve problems (marital, family, financial, legal, alcohol, and more) that may impact their work or personal lives. The EAP provides 24-hour phone assistance and is available for appointments at your convenience.
Voluntary Vision Plan
The Town offers a voluntary supplemental vision benefit for employees and dependents. The plan provides discounted vision care services as well as a hardware allowance for contacts or glasses through a provider network.
Health and Wellness Day
The Town encourages employees to focus on health and wellness. Recognizing that employees have diverse needs for time off to support health and wellness, the Town has established a health and wellness day per fiscal year.
Holidays
Employees receive 12 paid holidays per year.
Additionally, employees will be granted two floating holidays per fiscal year to allow employees the option to have additional paid days off to use at their discretion for things such as religious observances (for days that the Town does not recognize), parent-teacher conferences, or to supplement vacation, sick, or holiday leave.
Paid Parental, Eldercare, and Caregiver Leave
The Town provides up to six weeks of paid parental leave for the birth or adoption of a child and up to three weeks of paid eldercare and caregiver leave to care for a family member with a serious health condition.
Sick Leave
Town employees accrue sick leave at a rate of one day per month of service or 12 days per year.
The chart below shows sick leave for full-time employees, prorated and accumulated per pay period based on the number of hours an employee is scheduled to work per week. The number of sick days accrued rolls over from year to year.
Employees transferring from other North Carolina local government agencies may transfer their existing sick leave to the Town of Holly Springs within three months of hire.

Vacation/Personal Leave
Employees can accumulate vacation leave without any applicable maximum until December 31 of each year. At that time, any hours over 240 are converted to sick leave.
To attract and retain employees with subject matter expertise in local government, newly hired and current employees will accrue vacation leave based on years of service in the Local Government Employees Retirement System (LGERS), not solely years of service for the Town.
Employees accrue vacation at the rate shown in the charts below, prorated by the average number of hours in the workweek.

Credit Union Membership
All employees have the opportunity to join the Civic Credit Union.
Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts
Employees are offered the option to participate in Flexible Spending and Health Savings accounts.
Group and Term Life Insurance
Group coverage of two times the annual salary, up to a maximum of $300,000, is provided at no cost to the employee through Hartford. Low-cost supplemental term life insurance is also available for employees and family members.
Longevity Pay
The Town offers Longevity pay based on the total number of years of continuous service. Employees shall receive longevity pay on the payday for the pay period in which his/her eligibility date occurs and annually in succeeding years. Employees shall receive longevity pay based on the following table:

Long-Term Disability and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Plan
The Town provides long-term disability coverage for employees. LTD offers a level of income replacement if an eligible employee cannot work due to disability.
Retirement
The Town participates in the North Carolina Local Governmental Employees’ Retirement System starting the first day of your employment. As an employee, 6% is deducted from your paycheck and is applied to your retirement account. An employee becomes fully vested in the NCLGERS retirement plan after five years of credible service.
401 (k) and 457 Retirement Plan
The Town contributes 5% towards regular, full-time employees’ 401 (k) Plan. Employees may make additional contributions to their 401(k) or participate in the 457 Plan by payroll deduction. Employees are vested in the Supplemental Retirement Plan from the first day of employment.
Voluntary Short-Term Disability
The Town offers a voluntary short-term disability plan. Employees may purchase short-term disability insurance to replace a portion of their income if they cannot work due to an accident or illness (not job-related). STD benefit provides up to 60% of your weekly earnings to a maximum of $500 per week.
Workers Compensation
All Town employees (full-time and part-time) are covered under the N.C. Worker's Compensation Act. Responsibility for claiming compensation under the Workers Compensation Act is on the injured employee.

- Mother's Room: This private room is for new mothers to use as a comfortable and hygienic location to express breast milk.
