If you are an artist or curator who would like to have your work featured in our space, please see the information below to learn more about how to apply and our selection process. Selected artists will be assigned exhibition dates based on availability and theme. Exhibitions run from one to three months. Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
In our Lobby & Springboard Galleries:
Maureen Scullin
About: Maureen inherited her artistic talent from her father, a celebrated commercial artist. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, she later moved to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design. After continuing her education, she became a successful illustrator illustrating book covers, and illustrations for Advertising Agencies. Maureen spends most of her days in her studio painting, but she enjoys teaching art workshops as well. Just like her dad; she believes she should pass on the knowledge he shares with her. Today, as a full-time artist she concentrates on commissioned portraits, painting animals and fine art landscapes, as well as figurative artwork.

Interested in showcasing?
The Holly Springs Cultural Arts Center is a thriving hub of creativity, welcoming over 500,000 patrons annually. We offer dedicated exhibition spaces for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork, providing local artists with a unique platform to showcase their talent. Each of our well-lit spaces utilizes a rail system for hanging work. (We do not currently have adjustable track lighting or the ability to hang works over 25 lbs.)
Our “Springboard Gallery,” located in the North classroom corridor, provides 68 linear feet to showcase the work of students and emerging artists in our community. Artists selected for this space do not need to have previous exhibition experience. We will provide assistance in ensuring that work is shown using best gallery practices.
Our “Spotlight Gallery,” located in the entry to our theatre, provides an intimate space for fully conceptualized bodies of work with X linear feet. Artists selected for this space must have previous exhibition experience.
The lobby, a popular gathering place for the patrons of the Cultural Center and the Wake County Public Library, also provides limited space for work to be shown. Artists selected for this space must have previous exhibition experience and at least two pieces 36” wide or larger.

This free opportunity allows artists to connect with the community, gain exposure, and advance their careers. We are proud to support North Carolina-based artists who create work that has a meaningful impact on our vibrant community.
Artists are selected based on their innovative use of media, artistic excellence, contribution to cultural enrichment, and the ability to engage the public through their art. While a wide variety of subjects are welcome, preference is given to culturally diverse and community-inspired collections. We believe that art is a powerful tool to explore challenging topics, however we cannot show work that is explicitly divisive, condones hate, or contains nudity or explicit language.
Exhibits run for one to three months, with dates assigned based on theme, medium, and availability. Artists are encouraged to give an artist talk during the run of their exhibition. Artist talks are accompanied by a reception. Details and dates will be coordinated with the program specialist.
The Town of Holly Springs does not manage the sale of artwork. Interested collectors will contact artists directly for purchases.
